The Car The BMW E46 3-Series was introduced back in 1998 and was highly successful until it's replacement arrived in late 2005. The estate and coupe versions came in 2000, whilst the long awaited M3 didn't come until 2001. BMW made a limited run CSL model in 2003, it was both lightweight, powerful and considerably more expensive than the standard M3. An 'in between' version was launched late in the E46's lifecycle called the CS. It featured some CSL parts and is regarded by some as the best all round E46.
